GENTLE EXERCISE FOR THE OVER 60s

at Topaz Dancentre

Here at Topaz Dancentre, we offer weekly Gentle Exercise sessions. 

 

These classes feature a number of teacher-led routines, some which are seated and others standing. If anyone is unable to stand or balance then we adapt the class so that you can remain seated but still join in.

 

We move our bodies in a way which encourages bone growth (to fend off conditions like osteoporosis) whilst treating ourselves with respect and working with the body we have. Nobody is expected to push themselves so hard as to risk injury; we encourage repeated gentle movements to help our bodies remain mobile and maintain strength.

 

At the end of the class, we all enjoy a cup of tea and a natter; ensuring that we look after our minds as well as our bodies! Sessions consist of one hour of gentle exercise and half an hour to relax amongst friendly faces, enjoy a cup of tea and some social time.​​
